big bellies and monsoons
sri lanka now. sans luggage.
sri lanka is - amazing. i am elated to be back! the humidity hit me like a heavy egyptian rug that's just been drenched in dense oil.
the palm trees. the heat. the monsoon rains. the sounds. the smells. the insane, absolutely bonkers driving. the people. the food! oh my goodness! the FOOD!
so far... i repeat - only so far:
- string hoppers, chicken curry, potato curry, pol sambol
- kiribath, potato and spinach curry, lunu miris
- yellow rice, chicken curry (made in traditional clay pots), potatos, ambarella, cashew curry, eggplants, cucumber salad
- pancakes with juggery and hakaru
- copious amounts of tea
- love cake
- seafood rice
- copious amounts of portello, arrack, vodka, whisky, gin
- hoppers and egghoppers, fish curry
so much to look forward to still! and a pot belly. twice daily workouts will be required upon return to auckland.
i am loving being here with my cousin and his family, and my grandmother. we are having so much fun! i don't think i have laughed this much in such a long time! visited some old aunties and uncles today - was so nice seeing them after over a decade!
more updates later. and hopefully can buy a charger for my camera so can take some photos! what a shame if i can't take any photos!

i was seriously thinking abt it, as i too use pda heaps. thing is - i use it heaps when in hosp and at home, but when i go out etc. i don't need it... too bulky, too hard to text, and not sexy at all. and cos i'm so sexy and need to be as sexy as i am, in order to inspire unsexy men all over the world to become sexy like the sexy god that i am, i have decided to purchase the ultra sexy sony ericsson k800i (close contest with lg 'chocolate', but the choc doesn't have enough features).

just a quick update to let y'll know that i'm still alive.
i got to sydney last weekend after quite a drama at the auckland airport.. when i got to the checkout at the auckland airport i realised that i didn't have my passport with me. i ran to kidnap a taxi (i had to kick out a passenger) and the taxi driver (who was a really cool guy) ran red lights and stop signs to get me to and fro in less than an hour. i got to the airport in time but the checkout was closed so i had to catch a later flight (for free... Thank GOD...).
anyway, i'm now staying with my brother in his new 2-bedroom apartment (called Meriton) in a suburb called Waterloo close to the USNW.
to be honest with you, so far i've been.. well.. i've been struggling to focus on my studies..
but i'm def getting back to business tomorrow. with renewed commitment.
i'm looking forward to meeting y'll in a couple of weeks. it's now starting to hit me how unreal this situation is.. and how hard it's gonna be for me.. i feel like i'm stuck in between the present and the future..
